Its no different than a shadow priest healing. They can heal, but there are better healers out there (that the shadow priest will out DPS).
Fury warriors may be able tot tank, but there are better tanks out there (that the fury warrior will out DPS).

Didn't see this post earlier. Depends on the situation. In Raids, Fury warriors often off tank but would never be able to MT a raid boss. Well, maybe if they had tank gear that was T6 and they were tanking something in Kara.
Assuming for a moment that we are not talking Raids, a well geared and skilled fury warrior can definitely tank any TBC instance, but I would not feel comfortable running a heroic unless you have some significant points invested in prot spec. Heroics are just too demanding and teh repair bills are just too high. The amount of DPS and healing that your grp will do in a heroic will make it very difficult to hold aggro without some points in the threat generation talents and teh spike damage will be a nightmare for your healer to heal through. It can be done if your grp is strong and you have a good set of tanking gear.
Basically, DPS warriors and Ret Pallys can off tank almost anywhere and can MT anything non heroic, but after that it is better either stick to DPS or respec. That is just my opinion, but it is shared by many people in the Wow community.
